Congratulations to Dr. Griepenburg for being awarded an NSF grant for her work in gold nanoparticle technology! Previously, the Griepenburg lab has focused their research on the abilities of gold nanoparticles and how they can be used to release energy from carrier vesicles, called polymersomes. This award will allow the Griepenburg lab to continue this work and focus on other macromolecular assemblies. This grant also has a community outreach component the goal of which is to assist in changing the media portrayal of what a scientist should look like.
