CCIB Director Nir Yakoby (Biology) and CCIB Alum Dr. Robert Marmion published a paper in Development. 

CCIB PhD Student Sean McQuade from the Piccoli lab was awarded a Fellowship from the Mistletoe Foundation, which has a mission to build  “bridges between the academic, entrepreneurial, and civil communities to create a more human-centered and sustainable future through technology.” Out of over 300 applicants, thirty-six fellowships were awarded.  The fellowship has two components, a $10,000 unfettered research grant and the opportunity to participate in the 2018-2019 Mistletoe Startup Collaboration, lasting from August 2018 to May 2019. 


Grad Program Director Dr Grace Brannigan (Physics) and 2018 PhD Graduate Dr. Sruthi Murlidaran published a chapter in Methods in Enzymology  Brannigan Lab Members and CCIB Postdoc alum Dr. Reza Salari and CCIB PhD Students Ruchi Lohia and Liam Sharp have two manuscripts available on the arxiv preprint server (here and here). 

CCIB PI Dr. Angélica González’s (Biology) lab published 2 papers in Functional Ecology, and one in Ecology and Evolution.   

CCIB PI’s Eric Klein, Grace Brannigan, and Angélica González’s received Provost’s Research Awards.  

CCIB PI Dr. David Salas de la Cruz (Chemistry) is the principal investigator on a three-year, $344,609 grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Material Research. He also received funding from the Douglass Residential College Project, Committee on Institutional Equity and Diversity (CIED), and the Cuba Collaboration Matching Grant Program.  His group published a paper in International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.
